Topic: COVID-19 and other Emerging Wildlife Diseases
Presenter(s): Anne Ballmann, USGS-NWHC and Amanda Kamps, WDNR
SARS-CoV-2 is an emerging, novel virus and as such, how it impacts animal populations is an important aspect of investigation. As we continue to learn more about this virus and how it interacts with non-human animals, extra precautions are key to help prevent its possible spread between people and animals, most specifically wildlife species. This presentation will summarize the current information known about animal susceptibility and some actions implemented to protect Wisconsin’s wild animal populations.
