Call for applications for the 2025 WCTWS Travel Grant to attend

The Wildlife Society Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 

October 5-8, 2025

The Wisconsin Chapter of The Wildlife Society (WCTWS) is accepting applications from professional members (students are not eligible, another source of funding from WCTWS is provided for students) for one travel grant of $1,000 to help offset expenses related to attending the 31^st Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD. This grant opportunity is offered to WCTWS members who otherwise would not be able to participate in the national conference because of financial restrictions. Applications are due by September 15, 2025. The WCTWS Executive Board will make the final decision on the selection and inform the applicants by no later than September 22, 2025. 

Specific criteria:

• Member of the WCTWS (requirement)

• Inability to offset expenses by other means (i.e., grant money, agency funding, etc.)

• Preference is offered to individuals who have never attended the national TWS conference.

• Willingness to write an article related to the conference experience for the Intelligent Tinkering newsletter.

• Willingness to consider serving on the WCTWS executive board or a committee in the future or has served in the past.

• Willingness to participate in the Chapter and Working Group Leaders Meeting or a breakout session geared toward WCTWS members at the national meeting (TBD once full conference schedule is released) or serving on a national TWS Committee or Working Group as a representative of the WCTWS.
